Éon Ier de Penthièvre
Éon Ier de Penthièvre count de Penthièvre of 1035 with 1079 and count associated with Brittany of 1040 with 1056
Éon, Eudon or Eudes, born in 999, are the son junior by Geoffroi Ier of Brittany and Havoise of Normandy.
In 1031, it is present with his/her brother the duke Alain III of Brittany at the time of a donation made at the Abbaye of the mount Saint-Michel and the following year at the time of the foundation of the Abbaye Saint-Georges of Rennes whose their Adèle sister becomes the first abbess.
After a conflict with his/her brother and the abitrage of their uncle Judicaël bishop of Valves, it obtains from Alain III in 1035 a vast prerogative made up in évêchés of Saint Brieuc, Tréguier Saint Malo and Dol of Brittany, and which includes/understands the counties and baronnies Penthièvre, Goëlo, Avaugour and Lamballe.
After the premature dispartion of his brother Alain III, it seizes in 1040 the guard its nephew Conan II Brittany and proclaims count of Brittany. The young duke will be released by his faithful only in 1047.
Éon, overcome by William the Conqueror whereas it fought at the side of the king Henri Ier de France with the battle of Mortemer in 1054, is combined with the count Geoffroy III of Anjou against the young duke of Normandy.
In 1056 Conan II makes itself main of Rennes and the captive fact. In 1062 peace is concluded between the duke and Geoffroy Boterel, oldest son of Éon which continued only the combat. Years later, Éon takes part in 1075 more in risings of feudal against Hoël II of Brittany, the successor of Conan II.
He dies the January 7th 1079 and is buried in the cathedral of Saint Brieuc.
Of her union with Agnes, girl of the count de Cornouaille Alain Canhiart, it has five enfants :

Geoffroy Ier de Penthièvre, known as Boterel ;
- Brian († 1072), takes part in the conquest of the England and receives the honor of Richmond, died without postérité ;
- Alain Ier '' the Russet-red '' († 1089), which holds the honor of Richmond of 1070 with 1089, without postérité ;
- Alain II the Black († 1093), which holds the honor of Richmond of 1089 with 1093, without postérité ;
- Etienne († 1137), count of Guingamp of Trégor and lord of Goëlo, then count de Penthièvre, and who holds the honor of Richmond starting from 1093 ;
It had at least an illegitimate son in addition:
