Éomer

Éomer (2991 T.A. - 63 Q.A.) is a supporting character of the novel of J.R.R. Tolkien, the Lord of the Rings .

Wire of Éomund and Théodwyn, he is the nephew of Théoden, seventeenth king of the Rohan. It is the Third Marshal of Walk, in load of the oriental party of the country. Fallen in disgrace because of Gríma, it is exiled. Recalled after Gandalf drove out Gríma, it fights, armed with its sword Gúthwinë, at the sides of Aragorn during the Bataille of Extremely-the-Horn, then during the Bataille of the Fields of Pelennor, where his/her uncle perishes vis-a-vis the lord of the Nazgûl. Little before dying, Théoden names it its heir.

Crowned king, it founds the Third Line of the Kings of Rohan and renews the Oath of Eorl the young person, sealing alliance between Rohan and the Gondor. It Marie with Lothíriel of Fraud Amroth, he will have a son, who will succeed to him, Elfwine. Its reign lasts 65 years, until its death in Q.A. 63. It will pass to the posterity under the name of Éomer Éadig (“blessed” in Vieil English).

Adaptation to the cinema

Éomer was played by Karl Urban in the adaptation of the lord of the rings of Peter Jackson.
