Élisabethville is a suburban quoted located in the Yvelines (France), with horse on the common of Aubergenville and Épône. Created in the years 1920, it owes its name with the queen of the Belgians, Elisabeth, come to take refuge during the war of 14-18, in the thermal city. Many buildings and many cities bear Belgian names. It counts approximately 4000 inhabitants.
It is in the beginning a Cité-jardin built in the alluvial plain of the the Seine, between the river and the railway (Ligne Paris it Havre), in the park of the old castle of Garenne. Easily accessible since Paris thanks to the station from Aubergenville-Élisabethville, it gave access to an artificial beach on left bank of the Seine, and had formerly of a casino and a golf.
It is today a residential zone which is next to a little more the Usine Renault de Flins built in the east in the years 1950. With this épqoue was built vis-a-vis the main entrance of the factory, the allotment Zehrfuss, of the name of the architect who drew it (which is also the author of the factory). This allotment consists of buildings on pile (14 small buildings and of the houses) designed to integrate the car in the lifestyle of the inhabitants.
Many a Lotissement S contributed to the extension of the city towards the west, in spite of its situation at the risk in the event of strong rising.
The most remarkable monument is the church Holy-Therese-in-the Child-Jesus, construction in Reinforced concrete going back to 1928, work of the architect Paul Tournon. One also finds there in the sector of Épône, the vestiges of a Neolithic burial , the Allée from the Justice, which was discovered in 1873.
