Élisa Bonaparte

Élisa Bonaparte (born Maria-Anna the January 3rd 1777 with Ajaccio and dead the August 6th 1820 with Trieste) was the sister of Napoleon Bonaparte. Thanks to a purse, it made its education with the residence of St Cyr.

Biography

Marry Felix Baciocchi in 1797 of a family of Corsica, noble, but poor, and which was then simple captain (of a perfect nullity, it only reaches the rank of captain much later, with the wholesale price efforts). It had of him 5 children of which only two survived. It came to Paris two years after its marriage, and was surrounded there of the elite of the men of letters, of which it made its usual company.

Her husband was crowned prince of Piombino and Lucques, but the sovereign capacity was really exerted by the Élisa princess. She obtains the titles of large duchess of Toscane in 1809. After the fall of her brother, she lives into private. She withdrew herself initially with Bologna, then in Germany, and died in Villa Vicentina (province of Udine - Italy) in 1820.
