Career of player

Élie Baup begins like Goalkeeper with the US Larroque. It joined the US Toulouse at 15 years. There remain 4 years with the club before leaving for four years to the ACE Mazamet. At the 20 years age, it is victim of an car accident and sudden a Double fracture of the cervical which puts a term at its career of player in a premature way.

Career of trainer

In 1982, it obtains its second degree of diploma for the occupation of trainer. Its career of trainer begins with Castelnaudary. This 2 years experiment (1982 - 1984) enables him to prove reliable and to integrate the training center of the Toulouse FC as a person in charge (1984 - 1991). It is during this period that the technician will form, inter alia, Fabien Barthez.

In 1991, it leaves to the ACE Saint-Etienne to deal with the training center, before succeeding in 1994 Jacques Santini the head of the team first of the “Greens”. During this period, Élie Baup directs in particular Laurent Blanc. He is dismissed in 1996 and is replaced by Dominique Bathenay, but the club of the ADZE goes down in D2.

Baup arrives in 1997 at the Girondins of Bordeaux where he becomes the assistant of Guy Stéphan before taking his place in December of the same year (with the 21e day). Bordeaux finishes 5th at the conclusion of the season and it is as from this period that Élie Baup registers the first titles in its prize list of trainer, with in particular a championship in 1999 and a cut of the League in 2002. The October 24th 2003, it is dismissed and replaced by Michel Pavon. It turns over then to the ADZE just promoted Leagues 1 of them in order to ensure the maintenance of the club.

The club finishes 6th championship and gains its place in Coupe Intertoto. At the conclusion of the season 2005-2006, a disagreement between the leader pushes it to leave the club, which its legal tender clause allows him. Actually, the average results of the team (13th) of the championship) and diverts it received with Lyon (4-0) did not really plead in its favor and consequently that did not encourage the leaders to keep it.

It turns over then in the other club which it knows well, the Toulouse FC, and manages to qualify the “Téfécé” for the preliminary round of the Ligue of the Champions of the UEFA.
