Éleuthère Irenee of the Bridge of Nemours

Eleuthère Irenee of the Bridge of Nemours , born with Paris the June 24th 1771 and died in Philadelphia (Pennsylvania) the October 31st 1834, is a French chemist and industrialist. He studies the manufacture of the powder with Lavoisier. He is distinguished in particular during the French revolution when the August 10th, 1792, it defends Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette with her father Pierre Samuel of the Bridge of Nemours against insurgent crowd.
Exiled with the the United States, it founds in 1802 a powder mill close to Wilmington (Delaware), which is at the origin of the firm Bridge of Nemours , today Dupont
