Égyptos

In the Greek Mythology, Égyptos or Ægyptos (in Greek old Αἴγυπτος / Aiguptos ), wire of Bélos and Anchinoé, is a African king .

Governor of the Arabia, it seizes the Egypt (to which it gives his name) with dead of his/her father. He then seeks to force his twin brother Danaos, with the head of the Libya, to accept the union of their children (Égyptos had fifty wire and its brother fifty girls, named Danaïdes). The Mariage will take place finally, but will show the death of all wire of Égyptos except one, Lyncée. Very affected, Égyptos is withdrawn thereafter in Achaïe where it finishes its days.
