Égine (mythology)

In the Greek Mythology, Égine (in Greek old Αίγινα / Aígina ) is a nymph, girl of the god river Asopos.
Aimee of Zeus, this one removes it in the form of a eagle and transfers it onto the island of Œnone, called since island of Égine. From their union is born Éaque, which it gives up on the island.
According to Olympic IXe of Pindare, it is also the mother of Ménœtios (the father of Patrocle), conceived with Actor.
