Éfrit
A éfrit or ifrit (Arab: rear عفريت `ifrît , and rear عفاريت `afârît in the plural) is a kind of djinn. One generally regards it as malfaisant.
A Hadith speaks about it in these terms:
Yesterday, a éfrit among the djinns was put to try me to stop my prayer. However, Allah enabled me to seize him and I strangled it, I intend to attach it beside the one of the pillars of the mosque, so that in the morning you all can see it. And I remembered then the words of my brother Sulaymân: " Lord, forgives and make me me gift of a kingdom such as no one after me will not have similar… a " And Allah drove out the éfrit which flees in all humilité.
