Éblaïte
The éblaïte is a Semitic Langue spoken between XXIVè and XXIIIè century in the town of Ebla, in central Syria. She is known to us by documentation in writing Cunéiforme found in this city. It is thus with the Akkadien the oldest known Semitic language.
One does not know if it is necessary to classify this language in the north-western group of the Semitic languages, as well as the languages which are spoken later at the same place, or in the group is, not constituted by the akkadien and his derivatives, the Babylonian the Assyrian . The éblaïte indeed presents features which connect it to both: third nobody marked by the prefix ya- as in the west-Semitic group (and not - I as in akkadien), syntax VSO (against SOV in akkadien, because of influence of the Sumérien); and contrary, redoubling of the second consonant of the root of the verbs of unaccomplished aspect, as in akkadien.
