Èze

Èze is a common French, located in the department of the the Alpes-Maritimes and the area Provence-Alp-Coast of Azure. Its inhabitants is the Ézasques .

Geography

The commune extends on a escarpé territory, energy of the seaside where a hamlet forms Èze-on-Sea (name taking again the name of the Gare of Èze-on-Sea while the road panel indicates Èze-Edge-of-Sea …), to the escarpé piton where old picturesque and medieval houses form Èze-Village . The sun, the sea, the vibration of heat on the tile-channel Romans and cactées of the exotic garden of Èze form the miracle of balance of the summer of Provence.

The district Saint-Laurent-with Èze connects the seaside to the village. With Saint-Laurent-in Èze, after voluntary and terrible fires of the Eighties, much of inhabitants of the Principality of Monaco made there build their villas.

Clorine Malausséna

Clorine Malausséna , girl of the Count François Alziary de Malausséna , first mayor of French Nice and the widow of César-Marie Figuiera , mayor of Eze, solicitor who counts Garibaldi among his customers.

She dies out on April 22nd, 1922 at the 80 years age. She could have been buried in the vault of Malaussena to the cemetery of the Castle. It was not the case. Two days later, on Monday, April 24 at ten hours, it turns over to Eze where it rests still today in the vault of Figuiera. The procession was formed on the place César-Marie Figuiera where its coffin out of wooden of olive-tree is carried by six Ezasques. No the name on this vault, not of dates either.

Its back little girl, Clorine Cottier , is buried at its sides.

The currency of the city is the following one: Isia Moriendo Renascor and its emblem is a Phoenix perched on a bone.
