Årstad

Årstad is a Bydel of Bergen, in Norway. It occupies Bergensdalen. One finds there CHU of Haukeland, the stage of SK Brann, the cemeteries of Møllendal and Solheim and their squares military, and the skating rink of Bergenshallen.
Son name is the abbreviation of Alrekstad, a farm which existed in the area during the Early middle ages. Curiously today the place or was this farm is not in the bydel of Årstad but in that of Bergenhus
