Änew

Änew is a city of the Turkménistan. Its name is also written Annau or Anau. Änew is the capital of the Province of Ahal. The city is located at 8 kilometers in the south-east of the capital Aşgabat, near to the border with the Iran.
In 2007, the population was estimated at: 28200 inhabitants.
Excavations exhumed traces of dwelling close to the city dating from the III {{E}} thousand-year-old front J. - C.
