Ásgeir Ásgeirsson
Ásgeir Ásgeirsson (May 13rd 1894 - September 15th 1972) was president of the République of Iceland of 1952 with 1968 and Prime Minister between 1932 and 1934, as a leader of the Parti Progress of 1932 to 1933.
Ásgeir Ásgeirsson follows studies of Théologie to the Université of Iceland to Reykjavik and in graduate fate with mention in 1915. Because of its young age, it cannot be ordered immediately.
Ásgeirsson is elected with the Icelandic Parlement ( Alþingi or Althing ) in 1923 under the banner of the Parti progress ( Framsóknarflokkurinn ).
As a president of the Parliament it is expressed with Thingvellir in 1930 at the time of the celebration of the millenium of Alþingi. Ásgeirsson becomes Minister for Finance in 1931, then Prime Minister between the June 3rd 1932 and the July 28th 1934. It leaves the party of Progress in 1934 and continuous to be made elect as an independent candidate until in 1952 at the Parliament.
In 1952, Ásgeirsson is elected President of the Republic of Iceland. He is re-elected without opposition in 1956, 1960 and 1964 before leaving his place in 1968 with Kristján Eldjárn.
