Árni Magnússon
Árni Magnússon (November 13rd 1663 - January 7th 1730) was a Icelandic scientist.
He became, after having made many voyages, professor and librarian of the Université of Copenhagen. He left a Chronique of the Danes (1696).
He had piled up immense materials, for the history of the Iceland, when they were destroyed by a fire in 1728.
He bequeathed 1800 manuscripts to the Université of Copenhagen.
